What is TonneKMS?
TonneKMS is a measure of transport work.
For each move (leg), it is calculated as:
Weight (tonnes) × Distance (km)
Example:
A move carrying 12 tonnes over 40 km:
→ 12 × 40 = 480 TonneKMS
Booking totals are the sum of all moves.
Where you see it in ICOS TMS
1. Booking editor
Used for reviewing and adjusting TonneKMS at a booking level.
You will see:
Summary (Moves, Distance, TonneKMS)
Current move details
Other moves table
Option to correct distance
Approval per move
2. Tonnes/KM report
Used for verification, bulk actions, and export.
You can:
Filter legs across bookings
Review distance, weight, and source
Approve or bulk verify

Step-by-step: Review TonneKMS on a booking
Open the booking in the Booking editor
Review the summary section (Moves, Distance, TonneKMS)
Check the current move details

HIGH CONFIDENCE → Telemetry (most reliable)

Common questions (FAQ)
1. Why did my totals change after adding a transit stop?
Adding a transit stop creates additional legs (moves).
Each leg has its own distance and weight, which changes the total TonneKMS.
2. Why does a leg show “Estimated”?
This means no telemetry or GPS data was available, so the system calculated a fallback distance.
3. What does “Approve” do?
Approving confirms the values for that leg are correct and ready for reporting/export.
4. Does the CSV export respect filters?
Yes. The export includes only the data currently shown in the filtered view.
5. Why can’t I see a booking in the report?
Check that:
The booking has been saved
Stops have valid dates/times
Your filters include the relevant date range
6. What happens if I change the route (Manage Legs)?
Changing stops creates or updates legs.
After making changes:
Save the booking
Recheck TonneKMS values
Re-approve if needed
